    Can I ask for more time to hire a DUI attorney?

    i was cited for ovi on oct. 22 ,2011.a court date has been set for nov.9,2011 at brunswick mayor`s court. i would like to know if i may ask for a continuance to seek council?

    At your Nov. 9th court date, you should ask the judge if you can have more time to hire a DUI attorney. If the judge allows your request (there is a good possibility that he will), you will probably get around two extra weeks.

    If the judge says "No", you may think about entering a 'not guilty' plea so you will have extra time before your case goes to trial.
